1. About Vyntra
Vyntra is an international fintech specialising in Transaction Intelligence for financial institutions. We help banks, clearing houses, central banks, and payment processors gain real-time visibility, control, and insight across every transaction they process, regardless of format, system, or geography. Our mission is to make every transaction transparent, secure, and under control.
2. The Vyntra Transaction Observability Platform
The Vyntra Transaction Observability Platform is a format-agnostic, modular platform that enables financial institutions to capture, centralise, search, track, analyse, and monitor all their financial transaction data in real time, regardless of the format, system, or geography from which it originates. It is often described by customers as the “Google Search for Banks”: just as Google indexes the web and allows any page to be found instantly, Vyntra indexes all financial transactions and allows any transaction to be retrieved within seconds, even across billions of records spanning many years.
3. Platform Functionality and Features
The platform provides three complementary search modes:
- free-text search across all message content
- form-based search using structured filters and
- facet-based guided navigation for drill-down exploration.
An advanced scripting mode is also available for complex queries. Searches are executed against a semantic Elasticsearch index and return results in near real time, even across billions of records. Results can be saved, reused, and exported in Excel, CSV, or PDF formats.
4. Non-Functional Requirements
The platform is built on Elasticsearch and designed to handle high volumes of transaction data without compromising performance or reliability. It is deployed in production environments processing tens of millions of events per day. The architecture is horizontally scalable (i.e. additional Elasticsearch nodes can be added to the cluster as volumes grow) without requiring architectural changes or downtime. Infrastructure sizing is performed by Vyntra’s Professional Services team and is tailored to each customer’s specific volume profile, retention requirements, and query patterns.
5. Platform Architecture
The platform is built on four main layers:
- Application Server: a Java-based execution engine handling message processing, interface management, and scheduled tasks, together with a web server layer serving the user interface and REST API.
- Configuration Database: a relational database (PostgreSQL or Oracle) storing platform configuration, user management data, interface definitions, and dashboard/report definitions. This database is small in size as it holds no transactional data.
- Index Server: an Elasticsearch-based index that stores the structured, semantically indexed representation of all messages, transaction events, and transactions, enabling high-speed search and analytics.
- Raw Data Storage: a proprietary file-based storage layer that preserves every captured message in its original, unaltered format, organised in compressed and optionally encrypted TAR files on hot and warm storage tiers.
6. Security
Authentication is handled via username and password by default, with strong password enforcement. The platform supports Single Sign-On (SSO) integration out of the box using LDAP, SAML, and Active Directory, enabling integration with enterprise identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Keycloak. SSO can be configured to handle authentication only, or to also automatically create, update, and assign security profiles to users based on identity provider group memberships.
7. Deployment, Management, and Operations
The platform is always deployed on infrastructure managed and controlled by the customer. Three deployment models are supported:
- traditional on-premise (bare-metal or virtualised servers),
- cloud (private or public cloud , AWS, Azure, or GCP), or
- hybrid.
The platform is cloud-agnostic and supports containerised deployment using Docker and Kubernetes or OpenShift, with Helm charts provided by Vyntra for standardised, repeatable deployments.
8. Service Management
Vyntra delivers approximately four releases per year: one major release and three minor releases. Major releases may introduce architectural enhancements or significant new capabilities. Minor releases deliver new features, improvements, and security updates. Patch releases are issued outside the regular cycle when critical security vulnerabilities require urgent remediation.
9. Implementation
Implementation timelines vary by scope and solution.
A Transaction Search & Analyics implementation for a well-defined, standard payment flow can be completed in under three months. More complex implementations involving multiple payment flows, numerous interception points, and proprietary formats typically take six to nine months for the first phase.
Vyntra strongly recommends a phased approach: an initial MVP (Minimum Viable Product) covering one or two flows and the most critical interception points, delivering operational value quickly, followed by iterative expansion. Many customers continue to extend their Vyntra implementation over several years as additional flows and use cases are added.
10. Commercial Model
The Vyntra Transaction Observability Platform is sold as a yearly subscription. The subscription fee is primarily based on the average daily volume of messages or transactions processed and the number of concurrent users. Subscription terms are typically three to five years. Volume is measured as an average over a rolling 28-day period, meaning that short-term peaks do not automatically trigger a licence breach.
